The Oystercatcher Gallery and Dove Cottage Studio now have a substantial catalogue of images of George and Gill's Artwork in print, as well as many Argyll and Kintyre images by the late Mackean Stewart.

A big thank you to all our customers at 10 Hall Street, Campbeltown over the last 22 years - it has been a lot of fun. We leave, sad to say goodbye, but thrilled at the new challenges ahead. Plenty of them too!

And a huge welcome to Jane and Grant Logan, who have taken charge under the name of Coastal Designs. we feel certain that the old place is in good hands and with all their experience the gallery should see continued success.

Nearly there - just everything to do

Who would have thought that moving out of a shop that you have occupied for only 22 years would be such a challenge?

The days fly by on the countdown to the end of an error era, and only a few tons of collected stuff to shift - hampered only by the lack of putting space.

An Oystercatcher...on a rock....at Crear

Gill and I are embarking on exciting new things in association with the Arts charity Crear: Space to Create. And this is in addition to continuing The Oystercatcher Gallery as an online business, and developing our painting under the banner of Dove Cottage Studio. Busy people. Maybe very tired people soon.... but looking forward to seeing so many old friends and customers again.

Going But Not Gone

It is sad that our first blog is announcing that our Gallery at 10 Hall Street in Campbeltown, Kintyre is being sold in mid-March this year, after nearly 22 years in business. 

We are selling, primarily for us to concentrate on our painting - always difficult to paint and run a business at the same time - and to pursue some new and exciting challenges.

The good news is that we are continuing to offer our paintings and prints for sale online, and news of what is new will be posted here - with details of pictures displayed on the website and by links from this blog. Please note however, that for the present we can only accept payment by cheque for your purchases.

We continue to specialise in prints of paintings by the late Mackean Stewart, and our catalogue of his many paintings of Argyll [and Kintyre in particular] continues to grow as and when we are able to have the images print-ready.
